What a blessing it is however to have the comfort of the Scriptures, the comfort of God’s very Word.

A word of thanks, a word to cheer the downcast, a word of appreciation, a word of biblical counsel, (even if it may seem harsh) all are encouragements that find their roots in the truth of Scripture.

Read morePRECIOUS TIME!
Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3
We know the saying and also experience the truism that ‘time is precious’! We are locked into time because God created us in time and the fleeting moments of time must be experienced before we are ushered into eternity - that timeless state!
But in our time, as fleeting as it is, there are special moments of time that are integral to the state and direction of our futures and more importantly, our eternal future! We all as individuals and families have these special moments of time that God gives us to define, decide, and determine our spiritual and everyday direction for our future lives. These special moments of time, which always involve important choices and decisions on our parts, also play a major role in either grieving the Spirit of God or bringing Him glory.
New Community Church is facing one of these special moments of time! We are in the third year of our lease of this property, which ceases at the end of August this year. Our brother Bill Penaluna is now in Canberra negotiating with the Missionary Alliance Church of Australia in order to extend our use of this building. The outcome of this special moment of time in the life of New Community Church will have a major bearing on our future ministry.
So, what do we do? Can I suggest, that although the Lord is completely in charge of the outcome of this special time, this does not allow us to be slack and prayerfully uncommitted toward His work in this place. We are called to “Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be established.”
And remember, no matter what the outcome - as William Ward once said “God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say, “Thank you?”

God wants us to know that His nature is unchallengeable and so He devised a plan of redemption for us (from before the foundation of the world), which would reveal His righteousness. And this plan was ultimately fulfilled at the cross.
