Our race is not about competing with one another, but about keeping our torch lit - our faith alive and vibrant for the Lord.

Let us by faith believe and rejoice in the Saviour who is the Lord Jesus Christ, born to die, so that sinners might know the eternal salvation of God. 

God has given us a massive signpost in the Scriptures that clearly points us to the same source of Joy - the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of sinners.

As believers we know and can rejoice in the whole redemptive plan of God’s grace from beginning to end - from the cradle to the cross, to His ascension, to His coming again, to the consummation of the ages.

Are we characterised by being those who manifest joy - joy in the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in our homes, marriages, families, and workplaces?

Are our hearts bent toward being continually thankful?

As believers, we still have the capacity to hang on and even develop sinful habits. And like any bad habit, they are difficult to break but as obedient followers of Jesus Christ - break them we must!

So why did I struggle with a security that God Himself had signed and sealed with the death and resurrection of His Son as recorded in the Scriptures?

Next time you feel like having a ‘pity party’ remind yourself this is just my prideful old self in action using a sinful ploy of self - seeking attention! 

We have God’s mind given to us so that we might walk in His ways that will glorify Him.
