James writes that the source of quarrels and conflicts is our worldly desires. The world says to seek after our own desires rather than what God desires. We are called to daily battle against the flesh by the Spirit's power, knowing that true contentment is found in God alone.
God cares about the motivations of our heart. He wants us to desire Him more than anything else.
