New Community Church is led by a Pastor and a group of elder, supported by deacons. Together, the team serves the saints by performing various tasks ranging from the teaching the Word to administrative duties. At present, the leadership team comprises the following members.
Chad Coley, Senior Pastor
With a passion for the local church, Chad believes in the primacy of the local body as God’s means of building His kingdom on this earth.
He sees his primary role as a shepherd of Christ’s flock, which involves the preaching and teaching of God’s word, pastoral care of the congregation, promoting the development of leaders within the body, and being a Christlike example to all.
Chad graduated with a B.A. in Biblical Studies from The College at Southeastern in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He also has an MDiv from The Masters Seminary in Sun Valley, California.
Chad and his wife Beth have been married for over 16 years and God has blessed them with two children: Ardon and Adelaide.
Steve Grant, Elder
A Baptist Pastor in Sydney and Hobart (since 2000), Steve’s ministry passion is shepherding the flock through discipleship, teaching and preaching. He and his wife Karen have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. His hobby is marine fish and corals.
He is also trying, albeit unsuccessfully, to take up golf.
Peter Rufus, Elder
Peter and his wife, Brinda, have been worshipping at New Community Church ever since they arrived in South Australia from India early in 2008.
An advertising copywriter by trade, Peter uses his writing skills to create promotional material for the church's various initiatives. Passionate about God and His Word, Peter also serves by leading Sunday worship, playing the keyboards as well as assisting one of the home groups in Bible Study.
