The Authority of the Son

The Son of God gives spiritual life. Whoever believes in Jesus has this life, and is illuminated to spiritual truth.
In John 5, we see that only Jesus Christ revives the spiritually dead, and gives them union with God. Believers have this spiritual union now, and its fulness into eternity. There is no condemnation for them now, or ever.
Only God has the power to raise to life those who have died, and to judge souls. The Son of Man gives judgment to the dead, and this proves His deity. Those who die as believers can rest assured that Christ will raise them again, because He has promised to. One day, God will execute judgment on the earth, and all will hear the voice of the risen Christ.
