Jesus Walks on Water
John 6:16 - 21

In John 6, Jesus again shows His divinity and power through a miracle. Jesus' walking on water was not a sign to the crowds, but to encourage His disciples.

Receiving Jesus doesn't mean life will be easy. Jesus had just displayed His mighty miracle of feeding the crowds, but all they were interested in was the physical nourishment He gave. The disciples were disappointed too, hoping that He would set up His kingdom immediately. So Jesus sends them ahead into a storm on the sea, to increase their faith.

Jesus dispels our fears in the midst of tough trials. As the storm arose, the disciples rowed vainly all night against it. He then appeared to them and encouraged them with His presence, making the storm calm. In the midst of any trials, Christ is still with us. If we trust in Jesus, then we can rely on Him, and need not fear anything in the world.
