James speaks about the importance of having a right relationship with one another. If we have a right relationship with God, we will be humble, and compassionate toward other people.

James commands us to stop speaking against one another. The cause of a critical heart is pride; thinking of ourselves as better than others. Slander and gossip is destructive; instead, we need to walk in love.

Judging others without love is showing that we are not walking by the law of love ourselves. James calls us to evaluate ourselves before thinking we can correct someone else. We are called to interact with others as God does Himself with us: in love.

There is only one Lawgiver and Judge: and we are not Him. We don't know people's motives, so we should not assume. But love is an action that desires the best for others.
