The motivation of our lives as Christians should be something greater than what the world has. When David was troubled by the evil in the world, he looked to God's love for him.
The love of God gives understanding to His people. It opens our eyes to understand the condition of the human heart. The world is hostile to God, and most people live as if they are their own god.
Many flatter themselves as being good enough, but in salvation we see the depths of our sin. Because of this, the mark of a true Christian is humility and confession.
We all act in accordance with our nature, but it is God's love that gives us clarity on the world we live in.
