God is at work building His Church, the gathered body of believers. The world will oppose this work, but believers can have joy in progressive sanctification.
Believers can have joy in consecration. When we come to Christ, we are set apart for God's purposes and glory. We don't belong to this world any more, and this is not our home.
Believers can have joy in the means of sanctification. The Holy Spirit renews our minds as we read the Word of God. We will never be perfect in this life, but with God's help, we can grow. We can have joy in this, as we exercise our faith.
Believers can have joy in the basis of sanctification, which is Christ. We are given to Christ from the Father, and we belong to Him. He has called us, sent us into the world, and He will see us through.
