Living the Sojourner Life
Psalm 26
5 January 2025

The more we love and submit to Christ, often the more opposition we face. Are we living the sojourner life like David?

Psalm 26 gives us four questions to ask ourselves. Do we have purity of character (v. 1 - 2)? David says he has a clear conscience before God because of his wholehearted devotion. His faith was standing firm in trial.

Are we loyal to Christ (v. 3 - 8)? Our loyalty is demonstrated through a fixed endurance focused on Christ, separation from evil, desire for worship, and love for God's people.

Do we have true humility (v. 9 - 10)? David has a healthy fear of God, pleading for deliverance from evil. He knows he needs God's help, and is completely reliant on Him through prayer.

Have we resolved to persevere (v. 11 - 12)? David wholeheartedly determines to walk with integrity. He seeks God's rescue from evil around him, and continues speaking good of God though life is hard.
